Greenfields Childcare

Greenfields Childcare is a non‑profit, community‑based early years centre that provides a supportive, inclusive and inspiring learning environment for children from 12 months up to primary school age. The centre follows a play‑based curriculum, encouraging curiosity, creativity and confidence through structured activities and imaginative play. With over 100 children attending each day and a team of 24 qualified staff, Greenfields places a strong emphasis on child‑centred care, wellbeing and the development of strong foundations for lifelong learning. The setting is organised into age‑appropriate rooms: a Crèche for babies from 12 months, a Toddler Room for children aged 1.8‑2.8 years, a Junior ECCE room (full‑time and part‑time) for those aged 2.8 years and above, and a Senior ECCE room (full‑time and part‑time) for children from 3.8 years preparing for primary school. In addition to the early years provision, Greenfields runs a comprehensive Afterschool Club for Junior infants to 6th class, offering homework support, creative projects and outdoor play from 13:30 to 17:30, as well as a Breakfast Club for early arrivals. Funded primarily through government schemes, any surplus income is reinvested into the facilities, equipment and learning environments. The centre also supports local employment through the Community Services Programme (CSP) and Tús initiatives, strengthening its ties with the wider community while providing valuable training opportunities.
