Blackrock Community Playgroup

Blackrock Community Playgroup provides a welcoming pre‑school and early years service for children from a wide range of backgrounds. Their mission highlights the strong link between home life and early learning, aiming to develop essential early life skills within a stimulating and creative environment. The playgroup embraces inclusive practice, ensuring that every child can benefit from a supportive setting that encourages curiosity and social development. The centre’s educational philosophy is rooted in play‑based learning, utilising the HighScope approach alongside the national frameworks of Siolta and Aistear. By working with families as a whole, they integrate the Better Start programme and offer additional support through the AIM initiative for children who may need extra assistance. Operating Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 12:45 pm, they provide flexible options including ECCE/sessional and NCS/private programmes, with the possibility of extending care by an extra 45 minutes per day for an additional charge.
