About
Blue Stars Early Years Services is a specialist preschool that delivers early intervention for autistic children aged three to six years. Operating from three sites in the Dublin area (Leopardstown, Dundrum and a central Dublin location), the centre adopts a neuro‑affirmative, holistic approach centred on each child’s developmental needs. Individualised Educational Plans (IEPs) are created and implemented through play‑based activities, with a strong emphasis on sensory regulation, communication and social skill development. Small‑group and one‑to‑one sessions ensure personalised support, while close partnership with parents guarantees that curriculum planning and progress monitoring remain collaborative.
The service is delivered by a transdisciplinary team that includes professionals with qualifications in psychology, education, speech and language therapy (using Natural Language Acquisition techniques), and occupational therapy. Interventions are grounded in Naturalistic Developmental Behavioural Intervention (NDBI) and incorporate evidence‑based methods such as Lego®‑based play therapy and the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Funding for the programme is available through the Home Tuition Scheme administered by the Department of Education and Skills, making the service accessible to families seeking specialised early years support.
