Cara Children's Centre

Cara House Family Resource Centre, based on Pearse Road in Letterkenny, has been serving the community since its opening in May 2004. Originally created as a welcoming space for people with daytime availability, it evolved in 2008 into one of Ireland’s 106 Family Resource Centres, offering a hub for social, recreational and educational activities that promote health, wellbeing and quality of life for families and individuals. The centre provides a broad range of services designed to meet the needs of all age groups. Its Early Years provision supports young children’s development through play‑based learning and structured early childhood care, while the Active Age Services and Health & Wellbeing programmes encourage active lifestyles and mental health support for adults and seniors. In addition, Cara House runs training and education courses, and offers room hire for community groups, making it a versatile community hub. Cara House places a strong emphasis on accessibility and community partnership, operating from modern premises that are easily reachable in the heart of Letterkenny. All courses and services are booked through the centre, with clear contact details provided for enquiries, and the organisation maintains a comprehensive list of emergency and support helplines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its users.
