Cedar Montessori School

Cedar Montessori is a sessional Montessori school situated in the Applewood Cottage, Leopardstown Road, Dublin, serving families in the Leopardstown and Sandyford areas. Established in 2009, the centre provides a “home‑from‑home” pre‑school experience in a safe and nurturing environment, aiming to foster a love of learning, confidence and respect in every child. The school operates a 3.5‑hour Montessori and play‑based programme each morning, designed to combine the principles of Montessori education with a structured play approach. The daily programme incorporates the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme, which offers three hours of government‑funded tuition for qualifying children over a two‑year period. Cedar Montessori also follows the Aistear curriculum, supporting children’s development across four thematic areas through inquiry‑based learning. The centre places a strong emphasis on music as part of its STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths) offering, enriching the educational experience with creative and artistic activities.
