Cherryorchard Community Childcare Service Ltd is a non‑profit centre opened in 2010, committed to providing high‑quality, affordable childcare and educational services to support children and parents in the local area. The service follows the High Scope philosophy, delivering a holistic programme of care and education that aims to help children reach their full potential within a culturally rich environment. The centre is currently operating at full capacity and maintains a waiting list of over 150 families, with 70 % of those awaiting places being children under the age of two. In response to this demand, an extension is planned: a 208 m² single‑storey building to the south of the existing site, incorporating two new classrooms, sleep and changing rooms, a therapy room and expanded outdoor garden spaces, providing a minimum of 24 additional places. The development is supported by Dublin City Council and is included in the Local Area Plan.
