Clondrohid Community Creche, Preschool & Afterschool Services

Clann Aire is a community‑run creche that has been operating in Clondrohid, Co. Cork since 2003. Housed in a purpose‑built centre, it welcomes children from four months up to twelve years and employs a team of 25 staff members. The facility provides full‑day care and a dedicated after‑school service, with a focus on creating safe, stimulating indoor and outdoor environments that are developmentally appropriate for each age group. The centre is organised into age‑specific rooms: the Caterpillar Room for infants (approximately four to eighteen months) with its own changing, milk kitchen and sleep areas; the Ladybird Room for toddlers (about eighteen months to two years) with a main play space and nappy facilities; and the Butterfly Room for children aged two to three, equipped with child‑size toilets to support toilet training and easy access to outdoor play. A preschool programme runs from early morning until 11:50 am, offering three ECCE sessions (Busy Bears, Busy Bees and Bumble Bees). After‑school care is situated at the rear of the local primary school, allowing children to be dropped off and collected on foot, and includes a breakfast club. Families are encouraged to partner with the centre through clear policies and procedures, and the creche accepts a range of support schemes such as the ECCE Programme and Aistear.
