Comhar Naíonraí na Gaeltachta (CNNG) is the nationally recognised provider of early‑years services throughout the Irish‑speaking Gaeltacht. Based at Ceathrú Rua in County Galway with regional offices in Dún na nGall, Mayo and Cork, the organisation delivers more than 130 early‑childhood services across the Gaeltacht. Its core offering includes Naíonraí (nurseries), Naíolanna (preschools), Cúram Iarscoile (after‑school care) and Clubanna Bricfeasta (breakfast clubs), all operated through the Irish language. CNNG also supplies management, support and training to early‑years providers, parents, committees and local communities, ensuring a cohesive network of high‑quality childcare in the region. The curriculum is rooted in nationally approved frameworks such as Lonnir, Síolta, Aistear and Borradh, aiming for holistic development of the child while strengthening Irish language proficiency and local dialects. A wide range of activities – drama, craft, music and cultural projects – are incorporated to promote independence, cultural confidence and a love of learning. By delivering services entirely in Irish, CNNG supports the preservation and growth of the language from the earliest years of life.
