About
Community After Schools Project (CASPr) is a community‑based education organisation operating in Dublin’s North‑East Inner City since 1995. The project delivers an after‑school programme across three sites, reaching approximately 150 primary‑school children attending five local schools. Its core aim is to prevent early school leaving by providing a safe, engaging environment where children can continue learning, develop social skills and receive support tailored to their individual needs. CASPr works closely with statutory and community agencies, implementing a Young People at Risk protocol that includes the development of personalised care plans for the most vulnerable children.
In addition to direct child‑care, CASPr offers accredited training for local adults, delivering QQI‑certified courses in childcare and the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) to 36 participants. These community‑employment initiatives aim to improve economic prospects and break the cycle of poverty. The organisation’s philosophy centres on connection, safety and engagement, fostering a collaborative network of partners committed to improving the physical, economic and social environment of the North‑East Inner City.
