Daughters of Charity and Family service , St. Louise's ECDS

The Daughters of Charity Child and Family Service (DoCCFS) is a not‑for‑profit public service organisation operating across the greater Leinster region. Through its St Louise’s Early Childhood Development Service (ECDS), the service provides therapeutic, supportive childcare for children from infancy through the early years, with a particular focus on families experiencing vulnerability. In 2024 the ECDS supported 415 children and families, including 27 % of children with additional needs and 92 children living in Direct Provision centres, reflecting a commitment to inclusive, needs‑led care. DoCCFS adopts a strengths‑based, solution‑focused approach, delivering quality‑led services that aim to enhance the dignity and potential of every child. The ECDS offers a safe, nurturing environment where early learning and social development are integrated with therapeutic support, ensuring that children can thrive within their own families wherever possible. The service works closely with its wider family‑centre network, assessment teams and specialised programmes such as the Gender, Sexual & Domestic Abuse Service to provide holistic support to both children and their caregivers.
