Early Years Educational Centre

Early Years Educational Centre is the longest‑established childcare provider in Cobh, originally founded in 1987 and relocated to its current Ballywilliam site in 2012. The centre is fully registered with the relevant regulatory bodies and follows a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with the national frameworks Síolta and Aistear. Teaching staff hold Level 8 qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Montessori, while all practitioners have Level 5 or 6 credentials, ensuring a high‑quality, safe and nurturing environment for children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. The centre offers a range of age‑specific programmes, from Playgroup and Beginner’s Preschool through to Junior and Senior Pre‑School options, including both Montessori and play‑based approaches. Full‑day care is available from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, providing meals, rest periods and a balanced mix of indoor and outdoor activities. An Afterschool Club supports primary‑school children with collection, homework assistance, meals and organised play. The facility also participates in the national ECCE scheme and the Access and Inclusion Model, delivering inclusive support for children with additional needs.
