Little Angels Childcare

Little Angels Playschool in Athenry, Co. Galway provides a play‑based, part‑time childcare service for children from two years old. The centre operates a blended indoor/outdoor environment with two indoor playrooms and an enclosed outdoor playroom, all designed to be open‑plan and homely. Up to 43 children can be cared for at any one time across three classes, allowing staff to plan activities that meet each child’s individual needs. The school is open daily from 8 am to 1 pm during term time, covering 38 weeks per year and closing for major holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter and the summer break. Sessions run from 8:50 am to 11:50 am, with optional extra hours before and after. The curriculum is structured around a sensory‑rich timetable that combines child‑initiated, staff‑initiated, collaborative and spontaneous activities, supporting social, emotional and cognitive development. Little Angels participates in the Free Childcare ECCE Scheme and the National Childcare Scheme, offering a free two‑year preschool session for eligible children. The centre aims to ease the transition to primary school by fostering learning through play in a safe, welcoming setting.
