Little Stars Preschool

Little Stars Preschool opened in August 2008 in Tramore, County Waterford, and provides a purpose‑built, wheelchair‑accessible environment for children from six months up to the preschool age group. The bright, spacious building includes a secure outdoor play area that is south‑west facing, offering a sheltered yet sunny space with a protective ground covering, a green area for a seasonal bouncing castle, and a small planting zone where children grow shrubs from seed. Security is enhanced by perimeter cameras and controlled access, while inside the centre there are dedicated baby and after‑school rooms, a games room equipped for board games, arts and crafts, and air‑hockey, and a homely atmosphere that encourages creativity and social interaction. The centre operates a full‑time creche from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, for 51 weeks of the year, closing only for the Christmas period. An after‑school club is also offered, with a seven‑seater vehicle that collects children from the local national school free of charge. Daily routines include homework support, a snack that children help prepare and clean up after, and a range of weekly activities such as musical instrument play, cooking, and birthday celebrations where children take part in making cakes and treats. The staff are qualified to at least FETAC Level 5, with many pursuing Level 6, and the centre is highly recommended by the HSE and Waterford Childcare.
