Rowan House Montessori

Founded in January 1994, Rowan House Montessori School is a well‑established Montessori provider on Dublin’s south side. The school operates daily from 8 am to 6 pm throughout the year, offering a stable, year‑round childcare environment. In December 2006 the centre moved into a purpose‑built, light and airy building on Stradbrook Road, Blackrock, which houses both indoor and outdoor classrooms, allowing children to learn in a spacious, well‑ventilated setting. The curriculum blends Montessori principles with a broad programme that includes art, music, cooking, drama, planting and regular educational tours. Teachers tailor activities to each child’s interests and abilities, fostering both academic and social development in a nurturing, loving atmosphere. The facility features a sizeable garden for planting, a sandpit, a tractor for outdoor play, and even a resident rabbit, providing varied sensory experiences for young learners. In August 2019 the centre expanded its after‑school provision to a dedicated set of rooms adjacent to Guardian Angels National School, offering larger indoor spaces and a convenient outdoor park. This expansion enhances the after‑school service, giving older children additional opportunities for play and learning beyond the regular school day.
