Smart Cookies Montessori

Smart Cookies Montessori provides a Montessori‑based early years programme for children aged two and a half to five years in Dalkey. The school follows the Montessori curriculum, offering practical life exercises, sensorial materials, prepared writing and reading, number work and cultural studies. These activities are designed to develop coordination, independence, concentration and a love of learning through hands‑on, self‑correcting materials. The centre places a strong emphasis on a safe, clean and attractive environment, with age‑appropriate resources and equipment displayed for children to choose freely. Uniforms are supplied via Farrellys Uniform Shop in Stillorgan Shopping Centre, and all children are required to be toilet trained. Nutrition is supported by a healthy snack policy, and parents are encouraged to maintain a partnership with the school, with open visitation and regular communication about any issues affecting the child. The school also adheres to a robust child protection policy in line with national guidelines. New families are invited to introduce their child to the setting with short visits during June, helping children settle before the start of the school year. Places are available for the 2024‑2025 academic year, with applications for the 2025‑2026 year also welcomed, including ECCE and National Childcare Scheme (NCS) funding options.
