The Learning Tree

The Learning Tree is the early years provision of the Fr. McGrath Family Resource Centre, located on St Joseph’s Road in Kilkenny. It delivers quality early education and care to children and their families, operating as a not‑for‑profit charity that prioritises accessibility and affordability. The service is designed to support the social, personal and educational development of children in a safe, nurturing environment, with a focus on low‑cost or free provision for families who need it. The centre offers a range of childcare and early learning options, including full‑day and part‑time care, as well as after‑school programmes for older children. Its approach is play‑based and child‑centred, integrating creative, recreational and developmental activities to foster confidence, curiosity and wellbeing. By linking with the wider community services of the Resource Centre, The Learning Tree aims to provide holistic support for families throughout Kilkenny.
