Tiddlywinks Creche

Tiddlywinks Creche & Preschool first opened its doors in May 2009 with just six children enrolled. Since then the centre has expanded rapidly, growing from a single room to six dedicated rooms that cater for children from twelve months old up to the end of the preschool year. The original site at 1 Rath Ullord, Kilkenny provides a Wobbler Room for infants, a Toddler Room for early walkers, and both Junior and Senior Preschool rooms for children progressing towards school age. In September 2023 the centre launched a second premises, Tiddlywinks Too, at 1 Fr Walsh Close, Kilkenny. This location extends the service offering to children aged two years and eight months through to after‑school age, collecting pupils walking from the nearby St John of God Girls National School and St Patricks De La Salle Boys National School. The after‑school provision supports children up to third class, providing a safe and supervised environment beyond the standard school day. Across both sites, Tiddlywinks focuses on age‑appropriate early childhood care and education, offering structured rooms that align with developmental stages. The centre’s growth reflects a commitment to providing a nurturing, community‑focused environment where children can learn, play and develop social skills under a consistent, child‑centred philosophy.
