About
The Waterford Women’s Centre is a community‑focused organisation that provides a range of educational, health and wellbeing programmes for women in Waterford and the surrounding area. Its facilities host a new Study Skills Programme and a Health and Wellbeing Programme, both designed to support women in developing confidence, practical skills and personal development in a supportive environment. The centre also runs a Local Training Initiative – Pathways to Employment, a QQI Level 4 course that introduces participants to learning and equips them with practical skills for the workplace.
In addition to its training courses, the centre organises cultural and heritage events, such as bonnet exhibitions and concerts, to celebrate women’s history and foster community engagement. These activities are held in partnership with local bodies, including the Waterford Wexford Education and Training Board, St. Brigid’s Family and Community Centre and SETU. The centre’s approach centres on providing a relaxed, respectful space where women of all ages and backgrounds can explore education, health, and employment opportunities.
