Glandore National School is a small rural primary school situated in the picturesque countryside of West Cork, just two kilometres from the coastal village of Glandore. The school community is supported by a team of five classroom teachers, a full‑time Special Education Teacher, five Special Needs Assistants and a part‑time secretary, enabling a low‑student‑to‑staff ratio that fosters personalised learning. The school’s ethos centres on nurturing the academic, physical, emotional, moral and social development of each child within a caring and inclusive environment. The school places a strong emphasis on both the arts and technology. It boasts a rich musical tradition and generous outdoor play areas that encourage creativity and physical activity. Every classroom is equipped with an Interactive Whiteboard and the regular use of Chromebooks and iPads ensures that pupils develop robust digital skills alongside traditional subjects. As a recognised “Green School”, Glandore NS also promotes environmental awareness and sustainable practices throughout its curriculum.
