Kiltormer National School is a rural, co‑educational primary school situated in the village of Kiltormer, 12 km south of Ballinasloe and 20 km north of Portumna. The school serves a close‑knit community of over 70 pupils and prides itself on a warm, welcoming atmosphere. An active Parents Council and a diligent Board of Management work together with staff to foster a supportive environment for learning and personal development. The school provides a broad, inclusive curriculum delivered by three mainstream teachers, two special‑education teachers, an EAL teacher and additional support staff. Pupils benefit from three mainstream classes and two dedicated support rooms, with ready access to a well‑stocked library, a variety of educational games and up‑to‑date IT equipment, ensuring that all learners can engage fully with the programme. Facilities are extensive for a village school. Outdoor spaces include a large yard, grass area, garden, basketball/volleyball court, astro‑turf pitch and the neighbouring GAA pitch. A junior play area features a shop, sandpit, mud kitchen and playhouse, while the local sports complex is used for physical‑education lessons and school events, providing ample opportunities for active recreation.
