About
Castlelyons National School is a co‑educational primary school serving children from Junior Infants through to Rang 6. In addition to mainstream classes, the school provides two specialist classes for pupils with moderate learning needs, ensuring an inclusive environment that caters for a range of abilities. The school’s ethos centres on developing each child’s full potential within a happy, caring setting, emphasising partnership with parents and the wider Castlelyons community. Its mission, “Ní neart go cur le chéile – Together, everyone achieves more”, underpins a holistic approach that nurtures independence, curiosity and a love of lifelong learning. The school benefits from high‑speed broadband connectivity delivered through the Department of Education’s School Broadband Programme, part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, enabling modern digital learning opportunities. As a Health‑Promoting School, it follows a nut‑free policy and provides subsidised milk, while encouraging healthy lunches. Uniforms are supplied via the Parents’ Association, and the school maintains a strong focus on child safeguarding, attendance, and parental involvement through regular meetings and clear communication channels.
