About
St Patrick’s BNS Ringsend is a Catholic national school situated in the heart of Dublin’s Ringsend community. The school prides itself on providing an inclusive, child‑centred education that reflects the multicultural landscape of modern Ireland. With an average class size of 16 pupils and a low teacher‑to‑student ratio of around 13:1 in the junior classes, learning is delivered through active, play‑based approaches that are largely textbook‑free in the infant years. The ethos is built around a welcoming environment where every child is valued, cared for and supported to reach their full potential. The school offers a broad range of facilities and programmes to enrich the pupil experience. A strong sporting tradition includes GAA, soccer, basketball, rowing, rugby and swimming, complemented by hot lunches provided under the DEIS scheme. As a Google‑linked school, each child from Senior Infants to Sixth Class has access to a Chromebook, supporting digital learning and helping to bridge the digital divide. Community engagement is fostered through strong links with the Parents’ Association, local clubs and initiatives such as buddy benches, gardening projects and cultural celebrations, creating a vibrant, tightly‑knit school community.
