About

St Fintan’s Boys National School is an all‑boys, Catholic primary school situated on Newline Road in Mountrath, County Laois. As a DEIS Band 1 institution it delivers a high standard of education within a caring, inclusive environment, promoting respect, responsibility and a love of learning. The school serves pupils from Junior Infants through to 6th class and places particular emphasis on partnership with parents and the wider community to equip children with the skills and values needed for future success. The school’s provision includes five mainstream classrooms, two dedicated autism classes – Le Chéile – and a robust special‑education team comprising three special‑education teachers and nine special‑needs assistants. This specialist support, together with a Home‑School Community Liaison Teacher, ensures that learners of all abilities receive tailored assistance. The campus, built in 1976, accommodates these teaching spaces alongside essential ancillary facilities such as a caretaker’s office, cleaning services and administrative support, creating a well‑rounded setting for academic and personal development.
