About

Aston Village Educate Together National School is a co‑educational primary school situated in the residential area of Aston Village, just off the Termonfeckin Road north of Drogheda. As an Educate Together school it provides a child‑centred, multi‑denominational and inclusive learning environment that is democratically run, encouraging pupils to take an active role in decision‑making and community life. The school occupies a modern, purpose‑built campus with 24 classrooms, a well‑stocked library, a multipurpose hall, a dedicated special‑needs unit and extensive garden spaces. These facilities support a broad curriculum and a range of extracurricular activities, fostering both academic development and personal growth. A diverse and experienced staff team draws on expertise from teaching and the wider community to deliver a rich educational experience for all learners. Key features include a strong partnership with local families and the wider community, regular events such as sports days and assemblies, and a commitment to inclusive practices that celebrate the individuality of each child.

History

Aston Village Educate Together National School opened on 1 September 2008 with 65 children enrolled across three mainstream classes (Junior Infants to Second Class). The school was constructed within a 16‑week period and quickly became a focal point for the local community in Aston Village, north of Drogheda. Over its first year, strong bonds were formed with families and the wider area. Since then the school has expanded to a state‑of‑the‑art facility comprising 24 classrooms, a library, hall, special‑needs unit, garden and additional resources, while maintaining its founding ethos of a child‑centred, multi‑denominational, inclusive, democratically run, co‑educational environment.
