About
Ardscoil Rís is a Catholic all‑boys secondary school situated on the North Circular Road in Limerick. Established in 1963 under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust, the school now educates approximately 745 pupils and employs a staff of more than 70. Its ethos is built around a holistic education that seeks to balance rigorous academic expectations with a wide‑ranging co‑ and extra‑curricular programme, encouraging students to develop intellectually, socially and spiritually. The campus is a bright, modern facility opened in March 2014, with a purpose‑built theatre added in 2019. State‑of‑the‑art classrooms, science labs and dedicated spaces support a comprehensive curriculum that includes Junior Cycle, Transition Year and Senior Cycle programmes. A strong sporting tradition is evident through competitive hurling, rugby and a growing hockey programme, while a vibrant student life is fostered by a Student Council, Parent Council and Past Pupil Union. Career guidance, pastoral care and a range of clubs further enrich the student experience, preparing graduates for life beyond school.
