The school provides a range of pastoral and extracurricular provisions, including a daily act of public worship, regular services such as Christmas, Easter and Leaving Certificate ceremonies, and a New Entrants welcome service to support transition. The school also welcomes international students, offering a prospectus that outlines opportunities for a diverse, supportive community.

History

Monaghan Collegiate School, originally founded as Monaghan Diocesan School by an Act of the Dublin Parliament in 1570, operated as a free school before falling into abeyance in 1902. Drawing on this historic legacy, the present school was re‑established in 1950. It operates under the joint patronage of the Presbyterian and Church of Ireland churches, together with smaller denominations, and is governed by a Board of Governors and a Board of Management as set out in its constitution.
