About
St Joseph’s College is a Catholic lay, co‑educational second‑level school that aims to nurture the holistic development of each pupil. The college’s ethos combines a strong religious foundation with a commitment to academic rigour, encouraging spiritual, emotional, moral, intellectual and physical growth. Learning is delivered through a balanced curriculum that includes the Junior Cycle, Transition Year, the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme and the Senior Cycle, with specialised provision such as an Autism Spectrum Disorder class. A dedicated Student Support Team – comprising senior leadership, SEN and special‑class coordinators and a guidance counsellor – oversees wellbeing strategies, ensuring that every student feels supported and valued. The school places a high priority on partnership in education, fostering collaborative relationships between staff, learners and families. Extracurricular provision is extensive, with sport and cultural activities forming a core part of school life; recent successes in hurling, ladies’ football and national science competitions illustrate the vibrant, ambitious spirit of the student body. Modern facilities support both academic and sporting pursuits, and the college’s open‑door policy welcomes pupils from a wide catchment, promoting inclusivity and community engagement.
