About
North Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School is a voluntary secondary school operating under the sole patronage of Educate Together. It delivers a co‑educational, learner‑centred curriculum that prioritises equality, sustainability and social justice. The school’s ethos places student participation and democratic decision‑making at the heart of everyday life, encouraging pupils to take an active role in clubs, policy formation and community projects. A strong emphasis is placed on collaborative learning, with programmes and subjects designed to develop creative, empathetic, lifelong learners equipped for the challenges of the 21st century. The campus supports a modern learning environment, featuring a virtual 3D school tour that showcases well‑equipped classrooms, specialist science and technology facilities, and dedicated spaces for co‑curricular activities. Digital resources such as the school’s App and VSWare platform enhance classroom interaction and provide seamless access to learning materials. The school’s inclusive approach, guided by the Continuum of Support, ensures that all students, regardless of ability or need, receive appropriate support to thrive academically and socially.
History
North Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School opened in August 2016 following a grassroots campaign that began in 2010. As one of 19 second‑level Educate Together schools in Ireland, it was established to embody the patron’s core principles of equality, democracy and inclusive education.
