Lanesboro Community College is a co‑educational post‑primary institution located in the riverside town of Lanesboro, County Longford. Operating under the Longford Westmeath Education & Training Board, the college provides the full suite of Junior and Leaving Certificate subjects, with particular strengths in science, technology and the Irish language. Modern facilities include a purpose‑built science block (completed 2018) and Áras na Gaeilge, a dedicated centre for Irish language learning opened in 2015, ensuring students have access to contemporary learning environments. History

Lanesboro Community College is situated on the River Shannon in south Longford and serves the local community as part of the Longford Westmeath Education & Training Board. The school originated as a vocational school in 1961 and was formally established as a Community College in 1989 through the amalgamation of Lanesboro Vocational School and the Convent of Mercy. Earlier milestones include a 1968 merger with St Mary’s Secondary School, the opening of a new building in 2000, refurbishment of the original premises in 2007, the inauguration of Áras na Gaeilge in 2015, and the completion of a state‑of‑the‑art science block in 2018. Enrolment for the 2019‑2020 academic year was 195 students.
