About
ABACAS Special School Kilnamanagh is a non‑denominational special school dedicated to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and complex needs. Operating under the patronage of Autism Ireland, the school provides a broad, balanced curriculum that is child‑centred and evidence‑based, tailoring teaching methods to each pupil’s learning style, abilities and Individual Education Plan. With thirty pupils distributed across five classes, the school maintains small class sizes to ensure personalised support and regular assessment of progress. The school’s ethos prioritises a safe, nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional and academic growth. Staff work closely with families to create a collaborative community that values respect, inclusion and the holistic development of each child. Emphasis is placed on fostering independence, communication and literacy through curricula designed to develop life‑long skills, while continuous outcome measurement ensures that teaching remains responsive and effective.
