About
Scoil an Chroí Naofa is a mixed, Catholic primary school situated in the centre of Ballinasloe town, catering for children from Junior Infants through to Sixth Class. As a DEIS Band 1 school it benefits from a lower pupil‑to‑teacher ratio of approximately 22:1 and offers a broad, balanced curriculum that supports the holistic development of every child. The school is inclusive, providing a mainstream programme alongside a Special Class for children with autism and two Special Classes for pupils with Developmental Language Delay, ensuring that diverse learning needs are met within one community. The school’s facilities are extensive for a primary setting. On‑site there is a children’s playground, a large school hall, an occupational‑therapy room, a school pitch and ample outdoor play areas. Its central location gives easy access to local amenities such as the town library, swimming pool, Duggan GAA park, shops, restaurants and St Michael’s church, which are regularly incorporated into the curriculum. A wide range of extra‑curricular activities—including book‑buddies reading schemes, multicultural celebrations, and participation in events such as the Allianz Rewards Pitch Day at Croke Park—enhance pupils’ social, cultural and physical development.
