About

Blennerville National School is a mixed Catholic primary school situated in the picturesque village of Blennerville on the outskirts of Tralee, Co Kerry. The school serves a vibrant community of close to 200 pupils across seven mainstream classes and provides a welcoming, inclusive environment that respects all religious beliefs while maintaining a strong Catholic ethos. Its educational philosophy centres on a broad, balanced curriculum that nurtures intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural development, encouraging language learning, appreciation of heritage and respect for diversity and the environment. The school operates from a modern two‑storey building opened in January 2016, featuring eight spacious mainstream classrooms, four dedicated resource rooms, a well‑stocked library and a large indoor sports hall. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard and a full range of learning resources. Outside, a generous yard includes a basketball court and a safe drop‑off area for arrivals and departures. Strong partnerships with an active Parents’ Association, a dedicated Board of Management and a supportive patron underpin the school’s commitment to high standards of behaviour, work ethic and personal achievement.

History

Blennerville National School has a distinguished history of over eighty years in the field of education. The original school has served the local community for decades, and a new state‑of‑the‑art building was officially opened in January 2016, providing modern facilities for its growing enrolment.
