About
Brideswell National School is a small, three‑teacher primary school located in the south of County Roscommon, roughly 10 km from Athlone. Set within a close‑knit rural community, the school places a strong emphasis on fostering a sense of belonging, encouraging pupils to take part in both parish and school‑wide events. The curriculum is designed to provide an all‑round education that nurtures the development of body, mind and spirit, with a particular focus on inclusive learning and personal growth. The school operates a full‑time special‑education post and a shared special‑education post, supported by a dedicated special needs assistant who works across all classrooms. Daily routines begin at 9:10 am, with the infant class finishing at 1:50 pm and the remaining classes concluding at 2:50 pm. A proactive Parents’ Association works closely with the Board of Management to enhance the learning environment, while on‑site staff such as a caretaker ensure the premises are well‑maintained and safe for pupils.
