About

C.B.S. Charleville is an all‑boys post‑primary school situated on Baker’s Road in Charleville, County Cork, operating under the patronage of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust. The college delivers a holistic education that nurtures intellectual, moral, spiritual, physical and social development, aiming to produce compassionate and responsible individuals. A comprehensive Leaving Certificate curriculum is offered, complemented by recent additions such as Leaving Certificate Physical Education and Music, ensuring that academic provision meets contemporary student needs. Beyond the classroom, the school provides a wide range of co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programmes. Students can take part in the annual Young Scientist competition, Lego robotics, horticulture projects and a biennial school musical that showcases talents in music, drama and performance. A strong sporting tradition includes hurling (with participation in the Rice Cup), Gaelic football, soccer, basketball and construction studies, with teams competing at county and provincial levels. Planned extensions will further enhance facilities, adding a dedicated music room, multimedia suite, Design‑Construction‑Graphics (DCG) room, specialised construction studies space, two SEN rooms and a new PE hall, reinforcing the school’s commitment to serving both its pupils and the wider community.
