Camcloon National School is a rural, mixed‑gender primary school located in the parish of Moore & Clonfad, Camcloon, south Roscommon. The school serves a close‑knit community of over 55 pupils across three mainstream classes and a dedicated class for students with autism. Emphasising an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, the school provides a balanced curriculum that incorporates Gaeilge, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, SPHE, Music, Visual Arts, Physical Education and Religion, supported by modern interactive whiteboards and a fully digital classroom equipped with 20 Fizzbooks and an e‑board. The school places a strong focus on both academic achievement and holistic development. Facilities include a state‑of‑the‑art astroturf pitch, regular swimming lessons, and specialist coaches for hurling, Gaelic football and soccer. As a Green School, Camcloon has earned six Green Flags for waste management, energy awareness, water, home, travel and biodiversity, and is working towards the Global Citizenship Flag. An active Parents’ Association and a diligent Board of Management further enrich the learning environment, supporting extra‑curricular projects such as the Tóchar wetlands restoration initiative and a variety of local and national competitions.
