About
Carysfort Mixed National School is a Church of Ireland‑affiliated primary school serving the Ardclough community. The school operates with an Administrative Principal, eight mainstream class teachers, a team of Special Educational Needs teachers and assistants, as well as support staff, providing a well‑resourced learning environment for children from Junior Infants to 6th Class. The curriculum is delivered within a framework that values fairness, tolerance and respect, aiming to nurture each child’s self‑esteem, confidence and curiosity. Emphasis is placed on a balanced development of intellectual, creative and artistic abilities, alongside a strong moral and spiritual foundation rooted in the school’s Christian ethos. The school boasts a range of contemporary facilities, including high‑speed broadband supplied through the Department of Education’s School Broadband Programme and a grant‑funded collection of iPads available for loan during extended closures. It is an active school, having earned its second Active School Flag in 2024, and a Green School, celebrating its 11th Green Flag in 2023, reflecting a commitment to health, wellbeing and environmental stewardship. Structured timetables, supervised lunch periods and a focus on punctuality and attendance underpin a safe, caring and disciplined atmosphere where pupils can thrive academically and socially.
