About

Cherrywood Educate Together National School is a newly established primary school serving the rapidly expanding Cherrywood community in the Tully area. Set beside a spacious park, the school embraces its rich natural and historical surroundings, using the outdoors as a vibrant extension of the classroom to enhance experiential learning. The campus provides modern teaching spaces for children from Senior Infants to 2nd Class, including dedicated Autism classes, and is designed to foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for families and the wider neighbourhood. The school follows the Educate Together ethos, delivering a child‑centred, co‑educational curriculum that places equality, democratic participation and respect for all world‑views at its core. Children are encouraged to think critically, ask questions and collaborate, with policies that involve pupils in decision‑making where appropriate. Parents and community members play an integral role in school life, contributing to a strong sense of belonging and shared responsibility for the school’s development. Operating within the Cherrywood strategic development zone (SDZ) as defined by the Department of Education, the school is committed to providing equal access to education for every child, regardless of gender, identity or background. Its democratic structure promotes active parental involvement while upholding the professional expertise of the teaching staff, aiming to become a centre of educational excellence within the community.
