About

Christ King Girls’ Secondary School is a voluntary Catholic secondary school for girls, operating under the trusteeship of CEIST. With a thriving enrolment of over 750 pupils, the school provides a nurturing yet challenging environment that balances academic rigour with spiritual and personal development. The curriculum is described as diverse and exciting, encouraging curiosity, innovation and leadership while also promoting active citizenship, creativity and personal growth. The school’s ethos centres on partnership with pupils, parents and the wider community, fostering a collaborative learning culture where respect for every person and the creation of a welcoming faith community are paramount. Key values such as spiritual and human development, quality teaching and learning, respect, community, and justice underpin everyday practice, ensuring that students receive a holistic education that prepares them for life beyond the classroom.

History

Christ King Secondary School first opened its doors as Sacred Heart Secondary School in Sunview House in September 1965. For more than half a century it has provided education in the Presentation Order tradition to girls in the local community, evolving into the present-day Christ King Girls’ Secondary School while maintaining its Catholic ethos.
