City Quay National School is a co‑educational primary school serving children from Junior Infants through to Sixth Class. The school operates under the rules and guidelines of the Department of Education and Science, providing a curriculum that balances academic learning with personal development. A key element of its ethos is creating a warm, caring environment where pupils feel safe and happy, recognising the importance of the eight formative years of primary education. The school places a strong emphasis on inclusive education. In addition to mainstream classes, it offers a dedicated Autism class and employs special education teachers and special needs assistants to support pupils with additional needs.
