About
Cork Educate Together National School is a state‑funded, multi‑denominational primary school situated in the heart of Cork City. It follows the Irish national curriculum within an equality‑based, co‑educational framework that is democratically run and child‑centred. The school’s ethos celebrates diversity and inclusion, fostering a creative and joyful environment where every child can belong, learn and thrive. Teaching and learning are described as quality‑driven, encouraging curiosity, participation, creativity and articulate expression, while the motto “We Learn Together to Live Together” underlines a commitment to tolerance, respect and community cohesion. The school provides a supportive learning atmosphere that promotes moral, social and spiritual development alongside academic achievement. Children are encouraged to understand, evaluate and appreciate different perspectives, developing kindness, responsibility and respect for others. Facilities and resources are organised to support both mainstream classroom teaching and specialised learning support, ensuring that all pupils, including those with additional educational needs, receive appropriate guidance and enrichment.
History
Cork Educate Together National School was established by parental action in 1987 under the name Cork School Project N.S. It later adopted the Educate Together ethos and is now known as Cork Educate Together National School. The school operates with an administrative principal, eight classroom teachers and four learning support/resource teachers, reflecting its growth and commitment to inclusive education.
