History
Creevy National School was originally established in 1842, with the first building serving both boys and girls for more than a century before being demolished. The current school opened on 1 June 1942 as a two‑teacher institution, known as Scoil Náisiunta Br. Mícheál Ó Cléirigh. Over the years it expanded by amalgamating several smaller local schools, including Corker, Tullymore, Culmore, Cashelard Mountain, Carricknahorna and Behey. Development milestones include the addition of two classrooms and a staffroom in 1970, further classroom extensions in 1979 and 1985, and a major extension and refurbishment completed in 2010, which introduced a new recreational hall. The school celebrated its 150th anniversary in 1992 and the most recent extension was officially opened and blessed in May 2012.
