About
Crossbridge National School is a small rural Catholic primary school serving children aged four to thirteen from the surrounding countryside. The school provides a balanced, holistic education within a caring environment, prioritising each child’s academic, personal, emotional and social development. An ethos of consideration, respect and tolerance underpins daily life, with a strong focus on building self‑esteem and encouraging a positive, supportive atmosphere for learning. The campus comprises the original 1952 building, a 1995 extension that added a general purpose room, and a 2015 development that introduced three new classrooms and a modernised block housing a Special Education Room, staff canteen and offices. Teaching is delivered by three mainstream class teachers and a shared Special Education Teacher, ensuring inclusive provision for all pupils. Extra‑curricular activities such as active‑break challenges, school‑wide events and community projects enrich the curriculum and promote physical wellbeing and cultural engagement.
History
The school was originally built in 1952 after the previous school burned down. An extension added a G.P. (General Purpose) room in 1995. In 2015 three new classrooms were constructed and the older building was renovated to create a new Special Education Room, staff canteen and offices.
