About
Dangan Mixed National School is a co‑educational Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Meath, situated in Summerhill, County Meath. The school provides a well‑ordered, caring and secure environment for children aged 4‑12, with a curriculum that balances academic rigour with spiritual, physical, moral and cultural development. It operates nine mainstream classes alongside a dedicated autism class, supported by two Special Education Teachers, a shared Special Education Teacher, a part‑time English as an Additional Language (EAL) teacher and four Special Needs Assistants, ensuring inclusive provision for a diverse pupil body. The school places a strong emphasis on whole‑child development, encouraging parental involvement through regular home‑school communication and an active Parents’ Association. Extra‑curricular provision includes Active Schools programmes such as Primary Aquatic Water Safety, road‑safety visits and a range of physical‑education activities, reflecting a commitment to health, wellbeing and community partnership. While rooted in a Catholic ethos, the school recognises and respects other faiths, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and dignity for all members of the school community.
