About
Dunshaughlin Community National School is a multidenominational primary school operating under the patronage of the Louth and Meath Education and Training Board. Established in September 2020, the school currently occupies temporary accommodation on the grounds of the Dunshaughlin GAA, with plans to relocate to a permanent site as enrolment expands. The school’s ethos is child‑centred and publicly accountable, striving to deliver a high‑quality education that offers equal opportunities to every child in the local community. The curriculum is built around five cornerstones – Excellence in Education, Equality, Community Focus, Respect and Care – and is complemented by a broad programme of extra‑curricular activities that promote holistic development. An inclusive, progressive environment encourages pupils to develop confidence, self‑esteem and a positive attitude towards learning, while strong partnerships with parents and the wider community support the school’s mission to nurture each child’s full potential.
History
Dunshaughlin Community National School opened its doors in September 2020, initially welcoming a junior infant class in temporary accommodation within the Dunshaughlin GAA grounds. The school intends to admit a new junior infant cohort each year until it provides the full eight‑class level structure. A move to a permanent, purpose‑built site is envisaged in the coming years to accommodate the growing local population and to further develop its facilities.
