About
Glasnevin National School is a co‑educational primary school situated on Botanic Avenue in Dublin 9, operating under the patronage of the Church of Ireland Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough. The school caters for approximately 80 pupils aged four to thirteen, offering classes from Junior Infants through to Sixth Class. Its educational ethos is built around a clear mission to enable each child to live a full life, develop as a social being, and prepare for further education and lifelong learning. The school provides a secure, inclusive learning environment where pupils are valued irrespective of gender, social background, faith or ability. Emphasis is placed on moral, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical and social development, with a curriculum that incorporates the “Follow Me” religious education programme while respecting the right of families to withdraw from RE lessons. A dedicated team of full‑time teachers, a special education teacher, special needs assistants and administrative support work together to foster a caring community that encourages honesty, kindness, patience and personal responsibility. Facilities support a broad range of activities, reflected in regular events such as sports days, science blasts, concerts and cultural celebrations, which enrich the pupils’ experience and promote cooperation, civic responsibility and a sense of belonging within the school and the wider parish community.
