The school benefits from a purpose‑built, modern campus that is among the best equipped in the country. Facilities include dedicated Home Economics and Woodwork rooms, state‑of‑the‑art computer suites, metalwork and music suites, a sports hall, gymnasium, canteen and a demonstration room. A vibrant extra‑curricular programme complements classroom learning, offering activities such as football, basketball, handball, public speaking, quizzes, art, poetry, musical productions, kayaking on Killary Harbour and international exchanges, notably a French Erasmus partnership.

History

Glenamaddy Community School was founded in 2002 by the Sisters of Mercy in partnership with the Galway Vocational Education Committee following the amalgamation of Coláiste Seosaimh and St Benin’s Vocational School. The merger created a single community‑focused secondary school dedicated to fostering the potential and uniqueness of each student.
