About
Glenbrohane National School is a small, rural Roman Catholic primary school situated in the parish of Knocklong‑Glenbrohane, south County Limerick. The school provides a holistic education that seeks to develop each pupil intellectually, physically, culturally, morally and spiritually, in line with its Catholic ethos and the Department of Education’s framework. With a modest enrolment (approximately 27‑77 pupils) the school is able to offer personalised attention and a close‑knit community atmosphere. The school’s facilities support a broad range of experiential learning opportunities. Pupils take part in four local GAA clubs (Garryspillane, Galbally, Glenroe and Ballylands), fostering teamwork and community spirit. An active school garden includes a newly‑built greenhouse where children grow potatoes and parsley, and a fairy garden that the class helped design and decorate. As part of National Tree Week, native trees have been planted on the grounds, enhancing outdoor learning and environmental awareness. The school also benefits from dedicated special educational needs (SEN) support, with both full‑time and shared SEN staff, as well as special needs assistants, ensuring inclusive provision for all learners.
