About
Gneeveguilla National School is a Catholic, co‑educational primary school located near Rathmore and operates under the patronage of the Bishop of Kerry. The school’s mission is to develop the full potential of each pupil within a happy, secure and caring environment. Pupils are regarded as valued members of the community and are treated with fairness and respect, fostering high standards of behaviour and a positive attitude towards learning. The curriculum is designed to enable children to live a full life, develop socially, and prepare for further education and lifelong learning, with a strong emphasis on equity and support for children with learning disabilities. The school adopts a hands‑on, activity‑based approach to learning. In the junior classes the Aistear programme provides play‑based, experiential learning, while all classes benefit from a broad range of extracurricular activities including basketball, football, hurling, swimming, yoga, drumming and gymnastics. Well‑maintained buildings and grounds, together with a wide range of resources provided by the board of management, create a modern learning environment. Strong partnerships with parents and the local community further enhance the educational experience.
