About

Guardian Angels National School is a co‑educational primary school under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin, welcoming pupils of all denominations. The school provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment where a child‑centred curriculum is tailored to diverse learning styles, encouraging each child to develop their unique talents to the fullest. Emphasis is placed on respect for everyone, and the ethos is reinforced through a broad programme of cultural and sporting extra‑curricular activities. The campus comprises modern permanent classrooms, a well‑stocked library, dedicated resource rooms and office facilities, all designed to support contemporary teaching and learning. Recent developments have added a hall and additional classrooms, and a new building project is planned to further enhance the eco‑friendly, technologically advanced environment. A virtual tour of the school is available online, allowing prospective families to explore the facilities remotely.

History

Guardian Angels National School was founded in 1970 shortly after the opening of the parish church. The original premises were a prefabricated wooden structure containing six classrooms, a staffroom and two toilet blocks, with Mrs Mary O’Sullivan as the first principal. In 1976, under new leadership, a permanent building was erected, opening in 1978 with a hall and four classrooms. By 1981 the school had expanded to eight teachers. In the 1990s, under the guidance of Mr Walter Cullinane, a new block of twelve classrooms, a library, resource rooms and offices was completed in 1999, followed by the integration of the resource area with the main school. A further building programme is planned to add classrooms and resource rooms. The school marked its 50th anniversary in 2020 with a commemorative book celebrating its history and achievements.
