About
Holy Child National School is a Catholic primary school situated in Larkhill, County Dublin, serving the local communities of Larkhill, Whitehall and Santry. The school promotes an inclusive ethos, welcoming children of all abilities and backgrounds, and works in partnership with parents to create a safe, caring and stimulating environment where every pupil can reach their full potential. A dedicated Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) class and a team of special‑needs assistants demonstrate the school’s commitment to supporting diverse learning needs. The curriculum is delivered across Junior Infants to Sixth Class, with a structured school day that balances academic lessons, regular breaks and outdoor play. Uniforms are worn daily, reinforcing a sense of community, while specialised PE gear is provided for physical education. Facilities include well‑equipped classrooms, a dedicated ASD classroom, and ample outdoor space for recreation. The school’s values are reflected in its mission to nurture, empower and respect each child, fostering both academic achievement and personal development.
History
Holy Child National School was established in September 2009 following the amalgamation of Holy Child Infant School and Holy Child Senior Girls National School. The school continues a tradition of Catholic education in the area that has served the Larkhill/Whitehall/Santry community since 1942.
